March MATness 2026: Days 11-17
Coming into the middle of the month with the next seven days honouring Joseph Pilates’ original 34 Mat exercises!
Hello Reader,
Just in case it slipped your mind, March is the month the worldwide Pilates community celebrates Joseph Pilates’ mat exercises. Over the 31 days of the month we explore his original 34 exercises in a campaign called March MATness.
If you missed them days One thru Three and days Four thru Ten are here.
Let’s get down to this week’s exercises
Day 11 is Saw and Day 17 is Shoulder Bridge but what beauties do we have in-between?

You’re not crazy, there are eight exercises shown above because this week we have our first two-exercises-on-one-day day which is the 16th featuring Scissors & Bicycle.
Scroll down for the links to the exercise deep dives and remember, dip in and out depending on your level as well as how your body is feeling. There are video tutorials at the bottom of the posts (at the end of the month they will behind a paywall for paying subscribers).
Days eleven through seventeen:
March 11th, Saw
March 12th, Swan Dive
(Swan Dive vs. Swan? The exercise that most of us do in a Mat class is technically a regression)
March 13th, One Leg Kick / Single Leg Kick*
March 14th, Neck Pull
March 15th, Double Leg Kick
March 16th, Scissors / Bicycle
(two separate exercises but one video because Bicycle is pretty much an extension of Scissors)
March 17th, Shoulder Bridge
*Different name for the same exercise: From Joseph Pilates’ Return To Life, vs. what it was called in my training program
